Seaweed - timber row boat for sale
Seaweed is a planked timber rowing boat about 11′ 6″ long and 4′ 6″ beam. Evidently professionally built but by unknown builder, she has removable floors, a single pair of hand-made oars (but two rowing positions) and a pair of rowlocks. She has been languishing in a back yard for some time but just needs some minor repairs and a complete rub-down and repaint to be someone’s pride and joy.
Seaweed is offered for sale on behalf of the current owner, who is looking for offers in the region of $550 (trailer is not included).

What is the nature and extent of the repairs for the boat and how heavy is it.

I only picked up one end to put it on the trailer, but I’d guess around 60Kg.
Needs a complete rub-down and repaint to be waterproof, plus at least one small area of planking needs to be replaced owing to rot. A similar area has already been replaced with epoxy on the other side, so I suspect a storage issue from earlier times.
I’d replace the soft spots with a thicker plank and then plane it to shape, rather than trying to match the camber with a similar size plank or even replacing the whole thing. Just remember to back out the inside before fitting if you want it fair.
